pride & joy

One of my fathers many "pride & joys" was his holly tree. He took such wonderful care of it all through my growing up years. People would actually take the time to stop and tell him how beautiful the tree was! Although we don't live in that house any longer and my father is long gone, the holly tree is still standing. And it still looks beautiful. He would be so happy to know that. As I painted this holly, I thought of him and all the things he taught me. Like unwavering pride & joy in all the things that I hold near and dear to my heart. Cheers!
