coming or going?

I had this ready to post on Friday and I just didn't feel finished with it. It made a big transformation over my very busy weekend. I'm so much happier with it now. This is my son's girlfriend and her dog Casper. Best of friends headed in different directions. :) I just love the colors and shapes. Hope today is a great day for you in whatever direction you are headed! This painting is SOLD.

Award

On a whim I entered my painting "philomena 2" in the Lancaster County Art Association "dog days" show, a themed membership exhibit featuring animals and pets, which is showing in the Kauffman Gallery in Strasburg, PA, and continues through September 11. It won third place in the show. How fun is that? Philomena 2 is available for purchase; $85, unframed.

philomena

This is Philomena. A lucky dog who was adopted through Volunteer Auxiliary for Animal Shelters Inc., in Jackson, NJ. You can check them out on Facebook. Great organization with great, caring people. I think I may do a few different paintings of Philomena, maybe try to push my comfort zone a little bit, try to learn a little bit…my inspiration to do this came from Liz Wiltzen's blog which I really enjoy. Philomena is available for purchase, $85, unframed.

status quo

One of the many charms of pets is that they just seem so content with the status quo…just keeping things the way they presently are. There are days when that would be such a nice place to be…happy with status quo. In our crazy world of rushing around, needing to do things, solve problems, maintain our homes and families, it's nice to come home to someone who it just happy to be. This painting is 6"x6", $85, unframed.

jake

This is a commissioned piece I did for my college rookie to give to her husband for his birthday. I am having such a difficult time getting nice photos of my paintings now when I can't photograph them outside. Any suggestions on what works for anyone else for photographing paintings indoors? It's snowing like crazy again here in Lancaster, PA!

patiently waiting

There really is nothing better than the unconditional love of our pets just patiently waiting for our love. They have no expectations of us. They are simply a safe place to land. What a wonderful thing to aspire to, just to be a safe place to land for those we love...
