So much fun. What a wonderful morning. A Beach Pear

While I was on vacation I had every intention of painting. I wanted to paint a pear, inspired by the video I watched while away (see previous post). One of my many new goals is to paint more from life, rather than from photos, which I do mostly for convenience. This is a pear that I bought while I was on vacation and brought along home with me. I am doing my best to focus on consistent small improvements, in everything that I do, rather than expecting great change all at once. I've been trying to work on creating a sense of dimension. I find it very challenging. This 4"x6" pear painting is done from a photograph. I think I really need to try another pear painting (probably dozens!) from life. I've been watching some wonderful videos by Sherrie Mcgraw at Bright Light Fine Art. So much to learn!
