Last night I had some time to paint. I worked on painting a rose and I just was so not happy with it. Not a bit. So after about an hour I just wiped the entire thing. Then decided I needed to change direction completely. Glad I did, this morning was so much better. With painting it's such a concrete example of perseverance, same with all of life, but you notice it more dramatically with art. One step forward, two steps back. It's all okay, it's a part of the process. So important not to get discouraged and keep forging ahead. I am reassured by this "great pear." This original 6"x6" oil painting is SOLD!

This is what I've been busy painting these past few mornings. I must say I am quite happy with it. I feel torn into a million directions, as always, but feeling less patient about it. I always hope, one day, life will be easier and I will have time to do things that I want to do, when I feel like it. Not just whenever I have a free minute. Am I setting my expectations too high? Maybe that time will never come. Where time will float gently by and I won't always feel like I need to be in control of it. Guess I can't control that either. perfectly cozy

This was a super fun painting! I love the roundness of the fruit next to the glass bowl next to the dramatic reflections. These were the cutest tiny pears that I bought at Central Market in Lancaster, PA, but they sure don't seem tiny in this painting! Hope you like it as much as I do! This one is 8"x8", $260 unframed.

These are the cutest little pears that I got at Central Market in downtown Lancaster. What a wonderful place to find painting inspiration! I especially love the reflections in the window. I am really, really trying to keep my brush strokes loose which was really challenging with the glass reflections! I was trying to pay close attention to my "edges."
