adrift

adrift [uh-drift] floating without control; drifting; not anchored or moored my life :) It always feels that way, although, I guess it’s not really, at least not in some ways. Adrift can be lovely if you end up in a great place. On the other hand, always trying to control everything is a burden. Wonder if you end up in the same place either way. In that case, I’ll take adrift like this lovely boat…it sure looks happy! This 8″ x 8″ original oil painting is available, unframed, for $100.

no. 8

No. 8 is from a Daily Paintworks challenge called The Intimate Challenge. I really enjoy these challenges because it pushes me to try painting something I may never try on my own. And this one was a definite challenge! I did my best to keep it loose and still have the feel of water, and make the rocks and grass look like they had mass, unlike the feel of the water. Carol Marine is such a master as simplifying…and I can only hope to master that one day. Thanks for the challenge Carol! This painting is available, 6"x6", $65, unframed.

waiting

This painting is for a Daily Paintworks challenge, the H2O challenge. These challenges are fun to do because it's usually something I wouldn't choose on my own. I took the day off from work today since I have two girls with no school hanging out with me all day. I painted till they woke up and now I'm helping to film a movie of them dressed in all different outfits. This technology can be creative! I'll post it if it turns out well, and may even if it doesn't! SOLD. I hope you have an amazing Friday!
