a rosey disposition

Each morning I hope to have one. A rosey disposition. Some days I do. Some days, not so much. I started my day with a fun run with two friends, then had a few minutes to finish up this painting that I started last night. So far, so good, I'd say. Lots to get finished today. Oh, and I looked up Rosey Disposition on the web this morning and found this adorable blog that you might enjoy! This original 8"x8" oil painting is available, unframed, for $100. Click to Bid

still alive

I feel like I've been missing-in-action lately. I am still alive and well. Painting and creating whenever I find a free minute! Never sure if anyone is even reading my posts, but ever hopeful :) So first up is my painting from this morning. I was feeling a bit frustrated and actually wiped this one off three times and finally ended up liking what happened. I kept feeling like my shadow just wasn't looking like a shadow, but now I'm thinking it does. Funny how you get lost in a painting and it really is key to just stop and take a step back. In painting, and in life! This painting is SOLD. Also, here is a larger painting I have been having fun with, just a work-in-progress peak. Who knows what it will become…
And next are some fun cigar boxes that I have been playing around with for the place where I have some of my artwork at Building Character, in Lancaster…

everything's coming up roses

How wonderful to feel the sunshine again. I've just been too busy with life to fit in painting. My daughter loves to go into my studio and play school while I paint. The cats usually join us, too. The other day she mentioned that we hadn't done that for a long time. So off we went. Our paint/play time makes me so happy. Hoping to get back in the groove again! Happy Spring! This painting is available for $70, unframed, plus shipping.

he loves me, he loves me not

So here is my second painting in a row that I found really challenging. Well I think roses are super difficult anyway, but it's about time I learn! So the painting that is 5"x7" I did on Saturday and I just wasn't happy with it so, to learn, I decided to give it another try on Sunday. I would love to hear if you think it improved at all, or not...or maybe I should paint it one more time, just to see what happens. That's how you learn, right?? Rose, 4"x4", $50 unframed.
