the bright side

Here's to springtime and looking on the bright side. Sometimes I find that so challenging, but warm weather and sunshine definitely helps!

purple tulips

Painting Purple Tulips means it's finally it's beginning to feel like springtime. Nothing makes me happier than seeing all the flowers pushing up from the ground knowing that I will have endless painting inspiration right at my fingertips for the next several months. The only challenge is that there seems to be less time to paint because of all the other things that come along with warmer weather...but it's all good.
Purple Tulips is an original 10"x10" oil painting on 1/8" gesso panel and is available, unframed, for $230 here. It can also be framed, for an additional cost, if you'd like, just message me if you are interested.

I learn something new every single time I pick up a paint brush. There's so much to learn. About composition, color, edges, balance, but it's also a lot about trusting your intuition. That's probably the most important, and the most difficult thing to learn. To trust. This original oil painting is available, unframed, in my DailyPaintworks shop for $85 here: Click to Bid
I am playing around with grouping some images together for pinterest. It's fun to see them together, right? Tall and skinny images are supposed to work best for pinterest posts, so I'm giving it a go!

reach

Reaching higher, never giving up. A great thing about my personal painting practice is that it's a very obvious example of how practice and dedication equals growth. Sometimes in life, you try and try and feel like you get nowhere. But with painting, I can see my progress. And that gives me reinforcement that all the hard work does actually matter. This original 6"x6" oil painting is available, unframed, for $85. Click to Bid And just for fun, here is a work-in-progress of this painting. When I wasn't sure I was going to be able to pull it off...

spiderwort

Busy weekend. Today was the first time I was able to paint since last week. I so look forward to my mornings with painting and coffee. Nothing better. I started this painting last Friday and finished this morning. Ever working on my constant goal of painting loose. This 6"x6" original oil painting is available, unframed, for $75. Click to Bid
Here is "spiderwort," on my (rather messy) easel this morning. (I bought my tabletop easel from Karin Jurick several years ago and just love it!)

hopeful

So fun painting flowers in the middle of this cold dreary winter…always hopeful that spring is right around the corner. Winter does really give us such a great appreciation of spring. This painting is 16"x8", $180 unframed.
