Zinnias, original oil painting

According to Flower Meaning, the zinnia flower has several meanings including thoughts of friends, endurance, daily remembrance, goodness and lasting affection.
  • The Victorian meaning of zinnias is thoughts of an absent friend
  • Of the heart
  • Lasting affection
  • Daily remembrance
No wonder zinnias are so loved, their beauty isn’t just skin deep!
This original 6″x6″ oil painting on 1 1/2″ raised panel with sides painted gold is available for $130 here.
You can see more of my original paintings here. Enjoy!
Here is a time-lapse video of it's creation!

zinnias

Zinnias. As an artist I see painting inspiration everywhere and anywhere. Yesterday I stopped at a coffee shop and these beautiful zinnias were on the counter. I'm guessing I am the only person that day who stopped and took a photo to paint the next morning. So much fun, and they are beautiful, right?

This original 6"x6" oil painting on ⅛" gesso panel is available, unframed, for $100 in my Etsy shop here.

zinnias

I am doing the Carve Out Time For Art five day challenge on instagram. Are you? Today's hashtag is #howicotfa (how I carve out time for art). And here's how: I get up each morning and create art before I run my daughter to the bus stop and then get myself off to work (I have an advertising & design business, tcg advertising & design, which keeps me super busy all day). Some morning 5:15 comes too, too early, but most days I wake up happy and ready to create!

Here is my morning creation:

abundance

I'm trying to focus on abundance instead of noticing what's wrong, or what's missing. I feel like I have a million things I want to do and create. But how lucky am I to get up in the morning to create this. Life is abundant, if you stop to notice. Happy Friday!

ambitious

I listened to a great podcast on The Jealous Curator this morning with Maryanne Moodie. She creates amazing weavings. Makes me want to start weaving! You can listen to her podcast here, and check out her work.
An ambitious morning...no time to chat...

bright

Bright. How I like to feel when I start my day. And creating a painting like this one certainly helps! This one is hot off the easel, just painted it this morning. This is available for purchase, 6"x6", $85, unframed. Hope you have an amazing day!
